The "Essex" class of aircraft carrier - 24 pcs. - were the backbone of the U.S. navy - together with the "Midway" class during WW 2.
Displacement: 27500 - 34000 tons
Length: 249,9- to 270 m (Due to different versions)
Beam : 28,3 m - 45 m max
Draft : 7- 8,4 m
HP. : 150000 33 knots
Aircraft; 90 - 100
The planes on above photo are "Skyhawks" - and besides them you can - on other photos see "Crusaders" - the last gunfighters of the navy - - -
USS "Lexington" later became a museum ship in Corpus Christy - Texas - where I visited her 2 times - and - of course - took tons of pictures!

Another "Essex" class aircraft carrier - the USS "Intrepid" - I visited in New York where she is displayed as museum ship. Also there - of course I took tons of photos , but you will have to wait for those as well - - -
