This series of pictures from Stanley is quite remarkable, because when you go to Stanley today, you will find nothing that looks like following pictures.

The whole line of buildings along the coast are completely gone, and along the beach is now Stanley Main road, which more reminds of a french or english seaside resort with pubs and restaurants and lots of tourists.

In the bay, - the wooden junks and sampans are gone and replaced with modern plastic dinghies with outboard motors. One of these days I will place some pics from 2012 to show the contrast.

But first - please enjoy some of my pics from 1973 - - -
