- in celebration of Hong Kongs reunification with China, July 1st. 1997.
Here a series of pictures from Hong Kong which will NEVER be seen again.
On July 1st. 1997 - Hong Kong was reunited with China - - -
I simply had to go back to Hong Kong as soon as possible after that date in order to see for myself, and to record this unique event with my cameras.
And really - there were things to look at, - impressive dragons and illumination of the big buildings - but no joy and smiling and dancing people in the streets - - -
It was as if the Hong Kong people already knew what was coming - the free and prosperous Hong Kong would be transformed into a police state - - -
