TAIWAN
- the Central Mountain range -
02 - along the EAST-WEST CROSS-ISLAND highway -
The East-West Cross-Island highway is in itself a 120 miles long remarkable feat of engineering.
It starts at the magnificent Taroko gorge,- and then in the most dramatical way twists and turns up across the Central Mountain range,- where Taiwan's most varied and beautiful scenery can be found.
Here is the highest mountains,- and you can see "the Sea of Clouds"!
This is a true wonderland with breathtaking beauty.
Please enjoy my impressions from a too fast trip across the Central Highland.
At this village I left the Taroko gorge and took the entire way across the central mountain range from east to west - ending up in Taichung on the east coast -
