Note:

Often I have read or heard the statement that the rice terraces at Banawe north of Baguio in the Philippines should be the most fantastic and gorgeous in the World.

And magnificent they are indeed, although now spoiled by the usual tourist curio shops with rip-off prices.

However,- having explored both the Banawe- as well as China's the Ping An rice terraces, I have no doubt that it is China who is the clear winner in the "Great World Wide Rice Terrace Competition".

At this moment I have still not uploaded any pictures from my travels in the Philippines, which makes it difficult to compare the scenic beauty of the rice terraces at Banawe to those of Ping An.

If I get old enough, - I will of course - sooner or later - also display pics and stories from my exploration of the Phillippines, - but when?

Let's see what happens - - -

But for now,- please enjoy the spectacular rice fields of China's Zhuang people on the "Dragon's Backbone" - - -

When Kit Yu and I found ourselves in the last local bus going to Ping An, we could not avoid to notice, that a lot of the bus passenger were dressed differently from other bus passengers in China - - -

They were the local minority people - the Zhuang - and obviously they were going the same way as us, because our destination was the same as their - the village Ping An - - -
