Here some "shots" from the beautifully restored section of Wuchen, - but you will of course notice, that I used much more time and energy on the old, original section, which is not yet restored - - -

The reason should be quite obvious - 

The restored section is beautiful - with a lot of harmony between the restored houses and the canal, but it IS a tourist trap, - which makes it "dead" and sterile compared to the real thing - - -

Here you do NOT meet the children, - the street vendors, - the cats and dogs, - the shop keepers, - the rusty bikes, - the dentists, - and you cannot NOT go and visit a nice old lady, who invites you inside, - and whatever else makes a city vibran - full of life, spirit and soul - - - 

However - that should of course NOT scare you away from visiting Wuzhen.  It IS beautiful - - - but come soon, before the tourist invasion has also conquered the old section of town.

For now - please enjoy my impressions of some very beautiful traditional Chinese architecture, - so beautiful, but unfortunately not a real, living city, but a setting - like in a theatre - - -

But the old section of town is still there - hopefully - so you are heavenly rewarded if you go and see both, - if the old section is still there?
