The Engine Room, part 2
View from the very aft in the engine room, - looking forward.
In the foreground you see the reduction gearbox and the red painted flywheel shield and the aft part of the main engine.
The round thing in the top, right side of the picture is the turbocharger air intake housing.

On the shelf to the left are the provisions refrigeration compressors, - and the door to the right leads to the emergency exit.

On the shelf left, you can see the nozzle cooling water pumps. (Photographed in November 1973.)

The Separator Room
The only enclosed compartment at the engine room bottom floor is the separator room. It is positioned forward, port side.
