- F 350 "INGOLF" -

                                            - Royal Danish Navy inspection vessel -

During my service time with the Royal Danish Navy, I also had the opportunity to travel with "INGOLF" on the west coast of Greenland.

"INGOLF" is a sister ship to "HVIDBJØRNEN", and the following pictures show more details of this class of ship.

Here are details of "INGOLF's" aft part with the helicopter deck. The helicopter type used in those days was French made by Sud-Aviation and was of type SE-3160 Alouette III.

They were the first helicopters used by the navy,- and were in use up to 1982.

Also take note of the orange coloured motor boat. It is NOT a life boat,- but were used for survey purposes.

Next in the series of of "My Ships" will be about my adventures on survey boat "SKA-4" - - -

You have seen "SKA-4" alongside "Ingolf" on this page, but this small boat and it's sisters are well worth to dive deeper into - - -

Actually it was a REAL adventure, - and therefore it should be included in the chapter "My Ships" - together with M/S"Samoa" - the first commercial ship on which I served, - M/S "Boribana" - which was the first ship that took me on the GREAT Far Eastern round trip - -

"SKA-4" was also the first ship where I could enjoy the title of Chief Engineer - - -  Well - Chief Engineer it true enough, but taking into considerstion that there was only me - one man -  to take care of the main engine as well as the auxiliary engine, - and whatever technical installations there were - this title - Chief Engineer - may sound a little bit too over exaggerated - - -

In fact I therefore also served as motorman, greaser and electrician - - -  All at the same time - - -
