GLOBAL-MARINER - on the blue path of the World - and beyond

This is the "Dannebrog" - the national flag of Denmark - the oldest flag in the World, that still appears in it's original configuration without changes or modifications. Here it is in the confuguration used by the Royal Danish Navy. The navy flag has a darker red colour than the usual colour of the flag - and furthermore it has two splits at the end. Here I photographed the flag onboard navy frigate "Jyllend" - a ship from 1860 - now beatifully restored and being the longest wooden ship in the World, it is well worth a visit - I hasve a soft spot fort that beautiful ship, because my grandfather served there during his navy-time - - - - -
THE STORM - - This is M/T "Stolt Surf" - a chemical tanker of 23.299 tons deadweight and a length and beam of 169,6 meters and 24,766 meters. I served as Chief Engineer onboard, and luckily enough I had some rolls of film left and bracing myself on the bridge with one hand, and operating the camera with the other, I managed to get several great shots of how it is in extreme weather on a big ocean - - -

This website will replace my old - not functioning website - and consequently there will be a lot of photos.
The website will be about ships of all kinds, - and about travelling and adventures all over the World, - climbing the mountains, diving to the bottom of the see, explore jungles and walking in deserts, as well as finding historical and cultural sites, that tickled my fantasy, - and fighting with ice in the polar region.
I am sure, that I will include something about art as well, since my wife is an artist, - and I actually started as an artist myself when teenager, but eventually I found it more attractive to become a Marine Engineer , - on the blue path of the World - and sail big ships around the Globe while absorbing all that the World had to offer - good as well as bad - - -
