The following pictures are from a three day "just fun" trip home to Middelfart in the month of October 1986, after the last passengers had left in Kiel in North Germany.

The good food and beer which the passengers had not managed to consume during the season, was now eaten by the crew while sailing her home to a winters rest and maintenance after a busy summer, with lots of scenic trips and exploring between the green Danish islands.

Please enjoy my images of the "homeward bound" trip of schooner "Nordboen" way back in 1986.

Here is the whole crew onboard "Nordboen" - only four - - -

The passengers had all diembarked in Germany, - and we were now homeward bound - to Middelfart - on the very last trip that year.  These last trips were GREAT, because there were still lots of good food left onboard that had not yet been consumed - and beer as well - so we were taken good care of - - -

We were Ivan Olsen - Captain - at the wheel -

On the deck house in red - we have is Lily Olsen - Ivan's wife, cook and Chief Officer onboard - - -

I am sure there was one more - Jytte - a professional sail ship hand, but I think she is sleeping when I took this photo - - -

Then there is me - the photographer - and therefore not on the photo - - - -

But we were at least 3 professional sailors onboard and could share the watch amongst us in the traditional 4 hours shifts -, - and here on the photo it is Captain Olsen on duty at the wheel - - - -

Then we had one redundant passenger - on the deck house - in blue -  my ex-wife - whom I just the following year had to throw out and divorce due to misbehavior -

Sounds terrible, - right? And it is!  But I got a huge, BIG bonus instead!

That was Kit Yu that approached me - the wind to my sail - and she is still with me to this day and behaves immaculately - - -
